2025 Fire Chief's Resource Symposium
The annual Fire Chief's Resource Symposium is back!
The Fire Chief's Resource Symposium will be held September 27-28, 2025, at Salt Fork State Park. This two-day program provides the attendee with a basic toolbox of information, resources, and contacts to give him or her a solid foundation for operating a successful fire department.
The Fire Chief’s Resource Symposium is made possible through the generous support of the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation. This two-day program offers Fire Chiefs a basic toolbox of information, resources, and contacts that they can use to establish a strong foundation for operating a successful fire department. It also provides an opportunity for Fire Chiefs to connect with the Ohio Fire Chiefs’ Association and the Ohio Fire & Emergency Services Foundation, along with the numerous services and benefits these organizations offer their members. The Symposium will take place alongside the Annual OFCA Board Retreat and the OFCA Fall Symposium, allowing OFCA Board members to act as instructors while fostering mentor-like relationships with the Chiefs in their respective districts. This setup also enhances networking opportunities with other peers from across the region state.

• Working with Elected Officials
• Responding to the Press
• Budget & Finance
• Data Collection & Usage
• MARCS & Emergency Response Plan
• State Fire Marshal and Emergency Medical Fire and Transportation Services
• Resources of the OFCA & Professional Development
• How to Get Fired & Roundtable Discussion
The program cost is $100.00 and is non-refundable. The association and accompanying grant cover a one-night stay at the lodge and meals on Saturday and Sunday. The program is held on a weekend basis (Saturday and Sunday). Attendees may come in on Friday evening, but the attendee's responsibility is any Friday cost. Upon successful completion of the Symposium, participants will receive a one-year complimentary membership to the OFCA.
