Salary Information:
Starting salary is $51,473 a year plus an excellent benefit package. The probation period is outlined within the Ross Township Personnel Policy Manual.
Department Overview:
The Ross Township Fire Department is a progressive and growing fire department in Butler County Ohio. The department is a combination department consisting of a full time Fire Chief, a part time Assistant Chief, 2 part time Captains and 4 part time Lieutenants and 33 part time firefighter/medics and EMT’s. The Fire Department is accepting applications for an eligibility list for the position of Full-Time Firefighter / Paramedic. This position will work a 24/48 schedule (53 hour work week) as assigned. All applicants are subject to the selection process.
To be considered, the applicant shall have a high school diploma or GED, valid Ohio driver’s license, and be at least 18 years of age. Applicant is required to have Ohio Paramedic (at time of appointment), Level II Firefighter (at time of appointment), ACLS, and CPR certifications. Fire Safety Inspector certification is desired. Successful candidates will be required to obtain qualification the Fire Safety Inspector certification within two years of appointment to operate all RTFD apparatus within one year (365 days) of appointment, and other specialty courses as required.
The Ross Township Fire Department offers testing services for the position of firefighter/paramedic through National Testing Network, Inc. To schedule a test, go to www.nationaltestingnetwork.com , select Fire and sign up for the Ross Township Fire Department. Upon completion of the entry level exam, all candidate scores are automatically forwarded to the Ross Township Fire Department. Candidates who attain a passing score on the entry level exam will be placed on the department’s eligibility list. Ross Township Fire Department will contact candidates on the list and will invite them to continue to participate in other stages of the department selection process. National Testing Network is a service provided to conduct entry level testing in a standardized, professional environment. National Testing Network does not replace the Ross Township Fire Department’s responsibility and decision making in the testing process. All candidate results are provided to Ross Township Fire Department where the final decisions are made.
